Common roofing questions
Plain answers. Where a number depends on your roof, we'll say so and give you the number in writing after an inspection.
Repairs and replacements
Should I repair or replace my roof?
It depends on the roof's age, how widespread the damage is, and the condition of the decking. After the inspection we'll show you photos and price both options.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Usually one to two days once materials are on site, depending on size, pitch and decking repairs.
How much does a roof replacement cost in Chattanooga?
It depends on size, pitch, material, layers to remove and decking. You'll get a written estimate after the inspection with each of those listed.
How long do asphalt shingle and metal roofs last?
That depends on the product and the attic ventilation. We'll show you the manufacturer's stated lifespan for each option you're considering.
Do I need a permit?
Some local jurisdictions require one for a full replacement. We pull it when required and include it in the estimate.
What warranty comes with my roof?
A 5-year workmanship warranty from us on every job, plus the manufacturer warranty for the product you choose. Manufacturer warranty terms, eligibility and registration requirements apply.
Storms and insurance
What are the signs of hail or wind damage?
Bruised or bare spots on shingles, dents in gutters and vents, granules in the gutters, and lifted, creased or missing shingles.
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
An inspection first tells you whether there's damage worth claiming. We'll give you photos and a written estimate either way.
Do you work with insurance companies?
We can inspect your roof, document damage with photos, provide a repair estimate, and meet your adjuster at the property if you ask us to. We do not negotiate claims on your behalf, and you are responsible for your deductible.
Can you pay or waive my deductible?
No. Your deductible is your responsibility under your policy, and several states make it illegal for a roofer to pay, waive or rebate it.
What happens if my insurance denies the claim?
You keep our written estimate and can decide what to do next. Depending on the state, you may have a cancellation right after a written denial.
